Cold Calling Tips

The goal of the questions I will ask is to help me understand what the customer’s needs are. Also to understand what are different things I will face in the future and how to handle it professionally? Also To get insight on what things I will face that I may have never knew about. For how can you phrase your introduction so you won’t get hung up on? First think about who you are calling. Second think what is your cold call is about. Third think about the time you are calling at.

You should be personal if it is a family setting, formal if it is a business and always listen to the customer. If you don’t for sure you will be hung up on. Finding out the background of the photographer before I call question. I look at what area code it is first. Look at the past customers that have been in the studio and what they purchased. Look at how they dress and act. I look at how many shoots they have done and what were the themes and how they turned out.

I know a lot of people dislike cold calls for either customers or even talking with other photographers. But the main thing you learn from all the hang ups is that no matter how many times. You learn how their edict is by how they answer the phone and how they hang up. There are always little clues.
