Photoshelter’s Photo Business Boot Camp

When listing to “Avoiding Business Mistakes All Photographers Make.” They talked about how many photographers rate themselves low. To me it was more of a one on one interview. When doing that then you will not be in business. Many new photographers are shy and don’t want to price their work to high in fear that they may lose a customer. Must bill for all things you will need for an assignment like gas, paper and ext. Having everything in writing is best because you can go back if there is a problem. Charging for commercial you need to charge for all the equipment from gear all the way to lighting. The best to always have a second set of back up gear just in case because if something goes down then they can still work.

Some cameras can shoot two memory cards one for jpeg and another in raw. Always make sure you cover your butt. Must have insurance on everything from heath insurances to business insurances. Then listening to “A Photographers Cost of Doing Business.” It was talking more about freelance photographers and how pricing can be a very tricky thing. To me it was more of a short summary of what was talked about in an interview in past tense. But needs to be addressed for price is always important.
